About this Series
This Proton Art and Colouring Series for Grades 1 to 8 is designed and developed keeping in mind the complete range of skills and techniques a student requires to draw, shade and colour almost any element seen in nature with objects, nature, animals and humans. This art series also includes some essential elements of art and design like colour, shape, space, composition, proportion and perspective in art. This art series is also focused on basic lessons on applying some mediums to draw, shade and paint with graphite and colour pencils, oil pastels and water colours. The book recommends that students observe their surrounding nature and humans, their colours and actions and make notes/sketches in detail. In the later grades, the series features renowned artists-both Indian and European-and some printmaking techniques. This series has incorporated NCERT suggestions regarding Indian indigenous culture such as Indian schools of miniature painting, popular Indian folk art and folk dance, Indian classical dance and some Indian musical instruments.
