On 6th February 2026, over 6.76 core participants joined Pariksha Pe Charcha 2026 held by PM Narendra Modi. It was the largest student interaction in the country this year. The main theme for this this year was Exam Utsav. The event, PPC 2026, is a direct interaction with the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi. Every year it is organised with support from the Ministry of Education and hosted through the MyGov portal.
PPC 2026 was unique for its multi-city format, featuring live interactions with students in Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu), Raipur (Chhatisgarh), Dev Mogra (Gujarat), and Guwahati (AS).
Students preparing for Board Exams 2026, including those under Central Board of Secondary Education and ICSE, aligned with National Education Policy 2020, found the session relevant and timely. The central idea was that exams are not a burden, they are something to be celebrated without fear or anxiety.
The focus of PPC 2026 was on confidence, character building, clarity and life skills. Many of the topics discussed were study habits, exam stress management, AI in education, life skills, and the long-term vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. Students, parents and teachers received practical tips that can be used easily.
Every student is unique and studies in a way that works for them. For some, concentrating early morning is more efficient that studying late at night. This advice focused on helping students to recognise their study patterns instead of copying their siblings or friends. Blindly following articles without taking into account their own needs can hamper rather than help. Students should focus on what helps them in the long run rather than focus on just exam related strategies.
In an exam or while preparing for them, many students find it difficult to remember what they studied. When students study with full attention, retention improves. Living in the present moment during study time matters.
PM Modi shared that “Not having a dream is a crime — always have a dream and work towards it.” He also explained that staying in comfort zone would not help in achieving their dreams. He also encouraged students to write down their dreams privately instead of telling everybody about them. Also suggested was reading biographies of great personalities to get inspiration and guidance.
As a student complained about frequently getting in trouble for playing games, PM Modi requested the parents to understand that studies are not end all. He highlighted the need of balancing studies, hobbies and enjoyment. Students learn new skills when they play or engage in hobbies. It may also lead to opening of new avenues for their future success.
In PPC 2026, PM Narendra Modi made it clear that both life skills and professional skills are important. He called them ‘inseparable twins’. While life skills (discipline, confidence) must be mastered, professional skills require lifelong learning. "Knowledge is the book; practice is the skill."
Praising AI, PM encouraged the use of AI to study i.e. use it to summarize books etc. Although he warned against digital slavery and not let it replace their critical thinking skills.
The main theme of Pariksha Pe Charcha 2026 was celebrating exams instead of taking them as something to fear or be anxious about. Students should remember that life is not just about exams, education should be used as a medium to improve life, learn. Also, preparation with a purpose should be the aim as the real path to success is the balance of studies, skills and hobbies.

Explain concepts to friends or classmates.
Sleep supports memory. A balanced diet and breathing exercises reduce anxiety. These methods support long-term exam stress management.
Teachers were reminded to stay slightly ahead of students while teaching without moving too far ahead. When lessons race ahead, students lose interest. Sharing upcoming chapters or topics in advance helps them to study beforehand for a better understand in the classroom. Connecting concepts to real life deepens understanding.
